The Fan Fare Ensemble is a fun-loving collection of great musicians. Featured on this album are the internationally acclaimed violinist, Steven Moeckel, and pianist and narrator Paula Fan, who just happens to be my sister! Steven appears all over the world as a soloist and chamber musician when he isn’t performing as Concertmaster of the Phoenix Symphony. Paula teaches at the University of Arizona and performs with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra (TSO) when she isn’t touring with Steven.
Two wonderful cellists are also part of this CD. Nelzimar Neves is from Brazil and has appeared as a soloist with the TSO. Anne Gratz loves chamber music and, like Nel before her, has played as Principal Cello with the TSO. On this CD, Nel plays on Happy Birthday, Wolfgang! and all of The Little Fiddle selections except for the ones Anne plays on: “Opera,” “Jazz,” and “Slipped C-String.” Anne plays on all the selections from Beethoven’s Mouse.
